1. Who we are

ModelMakerX is the specialist model-making division of ModelMakerHK. Established in 2017. In this notice, "we", "us" and "our" mean Model Maker HK ("ModelMakerHK"), including its division ModelMakerX.

2. What this notice covers

This notice explains what personal data we collect when you visit modelmakerx.com, send us a project brief through our enquiry form, or contact us by phone, WhatsApp or email, and what we do with it. We aim to handle personal data in line with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong.

3. What we collect and why

Enquiry form. You must give us your name, company, email address, the type of model you need, and the purpose of the model. You may also give us a phone or WhatsApp number, a link to or description of your 3D files or drawings, the model size or scale, the quantity, where the model will be shown, the date you need it by, and how you found us. The fields marked * are required; if you do not provide them, we cannot process your enquiry. Everything else is optional. Please do not put identity-card or passport numbers, payment details or passwords in the form.

Phone, WhatsApp and email. Your name, contact details and what you tell us.

Why we use it. Only for these purposes: (1) to read and reply to your enquiry; (2) to check your files and prepare a quotation; (3) if you go ahead, to arrange and manage the project and any later support for it; (4) to keep business records, for example accounts and records of our dealings with you; (5) to understand which channels bring enquiries, using your answer to "How did you find us?" for statistics; (6) to protect our website, form and email from spam and misuse; (7) only if you tick the optional box on our enquiry form or otherwise give us your consent, to send you news and information about the model-making services of ModelMakerX and ModelMakerHK (see section 6).

Website visits. This website is built and hosted on Wix. When you visit, Wix records technical information such as your IP address, browser type, language and the pages you view, so the site works and to produce visit statistics. Our form uses an invisible reCAPTCHA check, which looks at how a visitor behaves on the page to tell people from bots.

4. Who may receive your information

Our authorised staff who need it to deal with your enquiry.
Service providers who handle data for us, only for our purposes: our website, form and contact-records provider (Wix); our email service provider; and the reCAPTCHA spam-protection service.
Transport and delivery providers, only where needed to deliver your model, and only the delivery details they need.
Professional advisers, such as legal, accounting or audit advisers, where needed.
Government bodies, courts or law-enforcement authorities where the law requires or permits.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not pass it to anyone else without your consent, except as listed above.

5. Storage outside Hong Kong

Wix and its group companies and sub-processors process and store data in other countries (see Wix's list of sub-processors: https://support.wix.com/en/article/list-of-wixs-sub-processors). Our email provider may also store data outside Hong Kong.

6. Direct marketing

We use your personal data for direct marketing only if you have given us your consent. If you tick the optional box on our enquiry form, we will use your name, company and email address to send you news and information about the model-making services of ModelMakerX and ModelMakerHK, by email. You can withdraw your consent at any time, free of charge, by emailing info@modelmakerhk.com or by using the unsubscribe link in our messages; we will then stop using your data for direct marketing. We do not give your personal data to others for their direct marketing.

7. How long we keep your information

We keep enquiries that do not lead to a project for up to 24 months after our last contact with you. We keep records of projects for 7 years after the project is completed. After that we delete or anonymise them. If you have consented to direct marketing, we keep your contact details for that purpose until you withdraw your consent. Messages that our form provider flags as spam are deleted automatically after 30 days.

8. Security

Form submissions are sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. We limit access to enquiries to authorised staff who need them to do their work.

9. Cookies and website analytics

This website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are essential for the site and the enquiry form to work. Wix also uses them to produce visit statistics. You can control cookies in your browser settings; refusing some cookies may affect parts of the site. Our contact page offers WhatsApp links; WhatsApp handles data under its own privacy policy.

10. Your rights: access and correction

You may ask us whether we hold personal data about you, ask for a copy, and ask us to correct data that is wrong. Please write to Model Maker HK, Flat 2310A, 23/F., Cable TV Tower, 9 Hoi Shing Road, Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong, or info@modelmakerhk.com. For an access request please use the Data Access Request Form (OPS003) specified by the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (https://www.pcpd.org.hk/english/publications/files/Dforme.pdf), or give us the same information. We may need to check your identity. We reply within 40 days of receiving your request, as the Ordinance requires. We may charge a fee for complying with an access request; the fee will not be excessive. You can also ask us to delete your enquiry; we will consider your request and delete it unless we need to keep it for legal or record-keeping reasons.
